how to solve the dust problem on stone crusher plant

how to solve the dust problem on stone crusher plant

Have you received some complaints from residents about the noise and dust from the stone crusher plant? Many quarry crushing plant has been shut down after residents complained about noise affecting their rest and dust problem affecting their health. It produces a large amount of dust in the production of crushed stone. Which not only pollutes the environment but also harms the human body. How to effectively deal with the dust problem on the production line of a rock crushing plant? Here are four tips that might help.

Improve the process layout of the bag filter and arrange the filter of the crusher according to the direction of the belt conveyor. The standard dust hopper of the bag filter is changed into a double dust hopper structure. We cancel one screw conveyor and raise the bag dust collector, which is beneficial to the arrangement of air inlet pipe (the angle of the air duct is large). The air inlet is equipped with the air inlet box, which makes the dust of the crusher feeding port directly enter the air inlet box of the dust collector. It saves the elbow, reduces the system resistance and improves the dust collection efficiency. The single-layer flap valve is used in the ash bucket airlock, which eliminates the grid wheel feeder and its motor, reduces the secondary dust emission and improves the dust removal effect.

The field conditions restrict the dust emission at the corner of the belt conveyor. The clay groove and dust-removing cover can not change the form of the dust-removing process arrangement. Therefore, the dust-removing cover is in a slightly negative pressure state to control the dust emission of the belt conveyor.

Strengthen the management of dedusting equipment. Checking the sealing of dedusting cover regularly, and deal with the problems found in time. Carry out target management and assessment on post environment and dust emission of the bag-type dust collector. And monitor regularly the dust emission. We should use the economic lever to mobilize the enthusiasm of post personnel to improve the maintenance level of dust removal equipment and reduce dust pollution.

Considering not only the service life of filter material and pulse valve but also the dust in the ash falling place of the ash hopper. In order to improve the comprehensive dedusting effect of crusher and belt conveyor. When crushing the dry material, water can be poured at the material entrance of the crusher as needed (10 ~ 20 minutes after opening the crusher is required).

Stone chips are one of the main construction materials along with bricks, sand, cement, and steel. Generally, you can segregate the crushed stone into various sizes like 35mm, 20mm, 12mm, etc for different uses. Crushed stone aggregates are essential for the construction of roads, bridges, housing, industrial building construction.

Additionally, it is an essential item for other cement-based products. The list includes RCC pipes, PSC poles, pre moulded slabs, frames, and beams, etc for fabrication. A stone crusher plant is a profitable venture for new entrepreneurs. The demand for quality stone chips is increasing day-by-day.

All the building constructions whether it is housing or industrial construction activities requires crushed stone. Crushed stone is also required for cement based products like RCC pipes, PSC poles, cement concrete hollow blocks, precast cement concrete slabs, well rings, window & door frames and road laying. The demand for crushed stone will continue to grow with the growth of its user industry.

One of the most particular and general but most important materials used for making concrete is stone chips. These are used as filler with binding materials in the production of concrete. Crushed stones occupy about 72-75% of the volume of concrete and they greatly influence the strength of concrete.

Land and machinery are the major fixed cost investment. Major working capital costs are raw material, manpower, and utilities. Under the PMEGP scheme, you can get the subsidy from the banks. In the project funding, there must be a percentage of promoters allocation of the fund. Bank can ask for collateral security deposit also on the loan amount.

Stone crusher plants are available in two major types namely (a) stationary (b) portable or mobile. However, you can establish stationary crushers at quarry heads. Mainly, at the construction site, you can use the portable crushers. Here we have explained the stationary stone crusher plant details.

First of all, break the big stone boulders to smaller size manually. Then it isfed to the stone crusher. The crusher can accept the stone size of 175mm. Stone crushing is the two-stage process. In the first stage, crush the 175mm stone to about 50mm.

Thereafter, fit the crusher with a conversion kit to enable granulation of 5 to 20mm. Then screen the crushed material by the rotary screen. Unit location is a major factor for stone crusher plant business.

besides pollution, stone crushing plant owners violate labour rights - pakistan

For the last over one month, Khan has been feeling a severe pain in the lungs. The doctor at Pims attributed his disease to the nature of his work. Khan has been working as a stone crusher in the Margalla Hills near Taxila for over 10 years.

Talking to Dawn, the labourer said he could not see any doctor for over a month as his contractor did not allow him to leave the site. He was suffering from the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease that makes it hard to breathe. After the medical check-up, the doctor told me that it was due to my job in the dusty environment. The doctor also advised him to take rest for a month.

In reply to a question, Khan said it was very dangerous to plant ammunitions in the hills to blast rocks into pebbles for the construction purposes. Due to the lack of safety measures, most of the time labourers working on stone crushing machines sustain injuries.

Salman Mughal, 22, a resident of Fort Abbas district in Bahawalnagar, added that he had also been working in the Margalla Hills for over a year. He said his uncle, who was also a stone crusher, lost his life in November 2013 when a stone hit him at the workplace. He said neither the owner nor the government paid any compensation to the family of his uncle.

Mughal said the department of mines and minerals and the leaseholders promised insurance for the labourers during the auction of the stone crushing sites but the labourers were never provided any compensation or medical treatment in case of death or injuries.

He said Asim Khan, one of his friends from Upper Dir, died during the blasting of rocks last year. The government and the contractors dont care about the safety of the labourers while the stone crushers regularly get injuries and also develop eyesight problems. They are never compensated, he complained.

Ziauddin Khan, 23, a resident of Timergarah in Lower Dir, is another stone crusher at the site. He said the labourers worked tirelessly but the leaseholders and the government never provided them safety facilities. This is a dangerous work and people get injured on a daily basis, he said When the site was auctioned, the leaseholder was asked to write down the facilities for the workers. The list included opening of a dispensary, school and ambulance service. However, none of the facilities was provided to us, he added.

Around 0.1 million labourers are working on the crushing plants in Taxila and its surrounding areas, including Jhang Bahtar, Pathar Garh, Hassanabdal, Ahata, Fatehjang, Sung Trash, Sanjwal and Tarnawa Khanpur.

He said it was stated in the mines act 2006 that the contractor would pay Rs0.2 million compensation to the family of the labourer in case of his death during work. The department of mines and mineral was also to pay Rs0.3 million to the family of the victim.

Khawaja Javed Akhter, who is the chairman of the Margalla Stone Crushers Association, said under the agreement with the department the plant owners were not bound to pay any compensation to the family of a victim.

He also said around 250 crushing plants were operational on the Margalla Hills but the lease agreements of 50 per cent of the contractors had expired. Should we continue working without the renewal of the agreements, he questioned.

Asif Shujja, the director general of Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency, said Islamabads environment would adversely be affected if measures were not taken to control the stone crushing activities.

He said according to the Pakistan Environmental Protection Act 1997, which was adopted by the Punjab government in 2012, the owners of stone-crushing plants had to submit an initial environment examination or an environment impact assessment to the Punjab EPA before starting a project.

If the project is deemed environmentally safe, EPA issues a no-objection certificate (NOC) to the owners. However, a number of stone crushers continue operating without any permissions or licences, he added.
