proline gold mining and prospecting equipment/gold dredges

Many years of research and development, along with decades of invaluable dredging experience, have gone into the dredges we build today. At Proline we understand the importance of performance, as well as reliability, serviceability, weight, appearance, and cost. It was with all of those criteria in mind that we developed our line of dredges, most of which have seen many recent improvements. All of our dredges are "flare" dredges. The flare dredges are easily distinguished from the dredges that use a hopper, or "header box", in that they incorporate a large expansion chamber or "flare" which is located between the dredge's power jet and the sluice box. There are several advantages that come from this design. The flare's rapid expansion causes all dredged material to slow down and begin to spread out before reaching the sluice box for improved particle distribution. In addition, the configuration of the flare dredge allows the sluice box to sit much closer to the water, improving power and efficiency. The result of this design is greater dredge vacuum, less horse power required for operation, fewer rock jams, and improved fine gold recovery. We've always used the finest cross-link polyethylene plastic in our floatation. It has proven to be one of the toughest materials available, as it is very UV resistant and maintains its pliability much longer than some other types of plastic currently being used. All Proline pontoons have stainless steel threaded inserts cast into them which makes for easy assembly and maximum strength.

The recovery systems in our dredges are always under constant development. Although the changes are not always apparent, their results have been rewarding. Critical attention has been directed at riffle profile, riffle timing, and classifier design. Many hours of classifier testing eventually led to the design now found in all Proline flare dredges. Our highly acclaimed "wave" classifier is unique in that it creates a pulsing or "jigging" action similar to that which is found in many large mining operations. This allows the heavier values to settle out much sooner, while at the same time working the lighter material out of the sluice box, constantly enriching the concentrate. Our system not only provides impressive, consistent fine gold recovery, but is much lighter and easier to work with than the cumbersome "triple-sluice" and "multi-stage" designs offered by others. All of our dredges are equipped with "Nomad" matting for the entire length of the sluice box.

One major problem associated with all gold dredges over the years has been the far too frequent rock jams in the dredge hose, particularly at the power jet. On conventional dredge designs, the steel power jet slips inside the hose, creating a restriction and many plugs in the process. All 3" and larger Proline dredges utilize our exclusive "sure-flow" hose coupler system to essentially eliminate all surface rock jams. This system, when coupled to our unique oversized jet-flare assembly not only prevents a lot of downtime clearing the dredge hose, but will generally outlast conventional steel power jets by 400% or more. We pioneered the original non-clogging jet many years ago, and although it's been imitated many times, it's still the most efficient, simplest design on the market today. Buying a gold dredge isn't something most people do every day, so it pays to do some research before making a purchase. Feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. We'll be more than happy to discuss your options, and point out the advantages that come from choosing a Proline dredge.

The Proline 2" dredge has seen many improvements, resulting in a smaller and more portable unit, with increased power and features normally found only on larger dredges. It is powered by our Honda GXH50/HP100 pump package, which produces well over 100 gallons per minute, with twice the pressure of our previous pumps. The Honda engine is very quiet, offering nearly twice the fuel economy of the 2-cycle engines, and it eliminates the need to mix gas and oil. Our HP100 pump is manufactured with the same quality and features found on our larger pumps, such as the "flusher port," which supplies water pressure to run a flusher nozzle for cleaning crevices. The Proline was the first 2" dredge with this feature. Due to recent changes in the pump and jetting system...

This machine was a trend setter when it first came on the market and it continues to be one of our best sellers many years later. When other 2.5" dredges were floating on inner-tubes, required a suction nozzle for producing dredge vacuum, and had limited depth capabilities, the Proline 2.5" dredge sat on sturdy pontoons and used a power jet for dredge vacuum. It was also capable of driving an air compressor to support more active underwater mining. It was originally powered by our HP175 pump, but this pump has been replaced by our newer HP200, which is more powerful and easier to prime... more

Before its arrival most 3" dredges were essentially the same size as their 4"counterparts because they used the same pontoons, frame, pump, etc. This dredge was designed to be smaller and lighter than our 4" dredge, without sacrificing strength or stability. It sits on its own frame with pontoons that were matched to its size and weight. Another unique feature of this dredge is the pump. To this day, the HP300 is the only pump on the market designed specifically for 3" dredges... more

The light weight, portability and affordability of our 4" dredge makes it appealing to both the weekend prospector and the serious dredger alike. Small enough to slide into a pickup, light enough to be packed into remote areas, the 4" makes an excellent one man dredge. This model is equipped with pontoons that have increased stability over previous models, while remaining compact and lightweight. The frame remains essentially the same as previous models. It's a sturdy bolt together design which allows the dredge to be disassembled into smaller components for ease of transport. Assembly requires only a few hand tools...

Our 5" size always has been popular with dredgers who were looking for the perfect balance of portability with higher productivity. Smaller dredges simply can't process as much gravel and the larger dredges require more effort to get into those more remote areas where the richer gold deposits are. This is why the 5" dredge size is normally the smallest dredge chosen by the serious prospectors and professional dredgers.

Our 6" dredge is one of our personal favorites. It is relatively lightweight and can be transported and assembled with little more effort than that required for a 5" dredge, yet, it is capable of processing several times more material than those smaller dredges. The 6" dredge is ideally suited for use as an exploration and sampling unit for larger mining projects and is also capable of being the primary source of gold recovery in smaller operations. In our opinion, the 6" is the largest dredge that can be effectively operated by one man, however, a two-man team would allow the dredge to be used to its fullest potential...

The Proline Commercial 6" Dredge has all of the hardcore features and construction our customers need, while remaining portable and easy to use. The flotation consists of six cross-link polyethylene pontoons, cast extra thick and incorporating large threaded steel inserts for easy mounting. Our new modular frame design utilizes CNC machined steel tubing and laser cut components to allow for fast, trouble-free assembly. This dredge is equipped standard with two Honda GX270 engines and our famous HP500 water pumps, and provides excellent vacuum to moderate depths. We also offer a Deep Water model, with a variety of larger engine/pump packages, an inline booster jet, an outboard hose support, and two heavy duty PCA10 air compressors for extreme mining/sampling applications....

Years in the making, the Proline 8" Dredge has set a new standard for portability and performance. Computer analysis and rigorous field testing, backed by over forty years of experience, has resulted in one of the most efficient and user friendly designs that has ever been offered. The unique CNC machined, tig welded modular frame incorporates extensive use of laser cut components to ensure a high degree of accuracy. We include sturdy aluminum walking decks, which have been convered with a special non-slip coating. Designed for simplified shipping and transport into remote locations, assembly and adjustments can be made with just a few basic hand tools. Our winching system allows for easy sluice box slope adjustments while the dredge is in use, and we've greatly simplified the fore/aft movement of the sluice box. It rolls on four heavy duty plastic wheels, making it quick and easy to achieve proper dredge balance in the field....

911MPE hassmall gold mining equipment for sale andmore specifically mineral processing equipment. Our equipment is best used in small scale extractive metallurgyoperations operated by small miners or hobbyist prospectors and mining fanatics. 911MPE offers gold mining equipment as well as processing equipment applicable to most any base metals: copper, lead, zinc, nickel, tin, tungsten and more. For the relatively small size of equipment offered, sample preparation and metallurgical laboratories can economically buy good alternatives to the usually unaffordable equipment for sale in the classic market place.

911MPE has for target market what mining professionals consider the pilot-plant scale mining operation or artisanal mining operations with a focus around under 500TPD. Metals you can extract include: gold, silver or other of the precious group as well as the classic base metals; copper, lead, zinc, nickel, molybdenum. Much of our ultra-small scale equipment allows you to process from just a few kilo (pounds) per day and work on your passion for a small budget.

You can buy from us mineral processing equipment starting from crushing, grinding, classification, dredging, gravity separation, flotation, pumps, water treatment and smelting. A line of ovens, furnaces and laboratory equipment is also available.

Making a complete list of gold mining equipment starts with defining the type of gold mining you are doing and the budget you have at your disposal. The type of mining relates to hard rock, eluvial, or placer; alluvial deposits. The capital budget you have to invest in buying your equipment with dictate the scale at which you want to mine and influence the long-term operating costs of your mining operation.

Since most of the information online provides lists of gold mining equipment for amateur level mining with equipment like: gold pans, metal detectors, mini sluice box, blue bowl, geologist rock pick, soil scoop, hand screens/classifiers. The items listed just now fall closer to gold prospecting tools and equipment than actual mining.

I will present here what I consider are major equipment lists for 3 types of mining operations. Remember now, a metallurgist is writing. This will not be flawless and since my speciality is process equipment, that is mostly what will be discussed.

Some amateur level gold prospecting equipment such as metal detectors are often classified as mining equipment by small miners/prospectors operating as a hobby. These items include but are not limited to:

the top 50 biggest mining companies in the world

the top 50 biggest mining companies in the world

The MINING.COM Top 50* most valuable mining companies added a combined $50 billion in market capitalization over the three months to end March, a sharp slowdown compared to previous quarters, as the commodities rally cools and gold suffers its worst first quarter in decades.

Measured from the height of the pandemic in March-April last year the index has now recovered by an astonishing $636 billion thanks to a boom in spending on green infrastructure not only in China, but across Europe and the US.

An indication of how widespread the rally in mining stocks was the past year is the fact that a year ago a valuation of just over $4 billion secured a company a spot in the Top 50 while today, number 50 on the list, Tianqi Lithium, is valued at more than $8.5 billion. Companies around the $4 billion market cap mark now sit in the mid-60s.

Iron ore prices back above $170 a tonne lit a fire under the top producers, boosting BHP, Rio Tinto, and Fortescues value this year and (with help of roaring platinum group metals) lifted Anglo American to position number four, the highest rank in years for the company with roots stretching back more than a century to Johannesburg.

One of the biggest mining IPOs since Glencore in 2011 came on the back of the steelmaking raw materials performance with Brazils CSN Minerao debuting at 47 with a market value of over $9 billion as at 31 March. The mining unit of steel giant Companhia Siderrgica Nacional currently produces about 33 million tonnes of ore per year, but has ambitious plans to triple that over the next decade.

The combined value of gold, silver and streaming companies in the ranking now make up 16% of the index, down from 26% when gold prices were peaking in the third quarter of last year. The sector has lost over $50 billion in value since its peak, led by Barrick Gold, which bled more than $14 billion since end-September 2020.

Thats in stark contrast to platinum group metal producers which have jumped in the ranking Impala is up 27 spots after a 360% jump and Anglo American Platinum has added 250% in value in US terms and now sits just outside the top 10. The Johannesburg-listed counters not only benefited from soaring PGM prices, but also a strengthening rand.

Freeport McMoRan is up nearly 400% from its covid-lows last March, joined by other base metal miners in the top performers list. KGHM briefly dropped out of the Top 50 at the end of the first quarter but is now back at no 42 and Vedanta returns to the ranking at 34 from 53 a year ago.

Another indication of how broad-based the rally from pandemic lows a year ago is that among the worst performers only two companies Shandong Gold and Coal India actually showed a decline in value in US dollar terms over the past year.

As with any ranking, criteria for inclusion are contentious issues. We decided to exclude unlisted and state-owned enterprises at the outset due to a lack of information. That, of course, excludes giants like Chiles Codelco, Uzbekistans Navoi Mining, which owns the worlds largest gold mine, Eurochem, a major potash firm, Singapore-based trader Trafigura, and a number of entities in China and developing countries around the world.

For instance, should smelter companies or commodity traders that own mostly minority stakes in mining assets be included, especially if these investments have no operational component or warrant a seat on the board?

Levels of operational or strategic involvement and size of shareholding was another central consideration. Do streaming and royalty companies that receive metals from mining operations without shareholding qualify or are they just specialized financing vehicles? We included Franco Nevada, Royal Gold and Wheaton Precious Metals.

Vertically integrated concerns like Alcoa and energy companies such as Shenhua Energy where power, ports and railways make up a large portion of revenues pose a problem as do diversified companies such as Anglo American with separately listed majority-owned subsidiaries. Weve included Angloplat in the ranking as well as Kumba Iron Ore.

Many steelmakers own and often operate iron ore and other metal mines, but in the interest of balance and diversity we excluded the steel industry, and with that many companies that have substantial mining assets including giants like ArcelorMittal, Magnitogorsk, Ternium, Baosteel and many others.

Head office refers to operational headquarters wherever applicable, for example BHP and Rio Tinto are shown as Melbourne, Australia but Antofagasta is the exception that proves the rule. We consider the companys HQ to be in London, where it has been listed since the late 1800s.

Interesting, is it not that the top 50 mining stocks capitalisation only amounts to 1/4 of the $USD created from thin air in one year.(or for that matter, that none of the men toiling to dig it from the bowels of the art demand to be paid in specie, as was the norm, for example as recently as during the excavation of the Panama Canal)

Lab grown diamonds are 100% just as pure as mined diamonds, so much so, that its difficult to really tell the difference between both. In fact, though Manmade, our diamonds are IGI certified, with a guarantee of purity.

The diamond-mining process is an extremely energy-intensive procedure that harms the earth in ways that we cannot even comprehend. Thats why the man made diamond process of diamonds in labs is so Sustainable.

As theyre grown in a controlled environment, the processes used for lab created diamonds are extremely safe and pose no threat to the people working on them. As a result, these diamonds are also Sustainable. On the other hand, the mining process is not only dangerous for the miners, with risk being a major part of their lives, it also adversely affects our fragile eco-systems

The emerald-cut is among the most classic of diamond shapes and is usually cut into a rectangular shape. Its clean lines come from step-cutting, or parallel line facets, and it is always cut with blocked (cut) corners

diamonds

diamonds

We produce iron ore for steel, aluminium for cars and smart phones, copper for wind turbines, diamonds that set the standard for responsible, titanium for household products and borates for crops that feed the world

Diamonds preceded human life on Earth, and even dinosaurs. Most diamonds originated in the depths of Earths mantle between 1-3 billion years ago. These precious stones found their way to the surface through a series of volcanic eruptions occurring 300-400 million years ago.

Forty years ago, in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, after a decade of searching an area the size of France, two of our geologists Frank Hughes and Warren Atkinson saw a small diamond embedded in an ant hill. What those ants had found was one of the richest diamond deposits the world had ever seen. After years of hard work sampling creeks and rivers, following clues in the endless, remote Australian outback, Hughes and Atkinson were standing on top of the pipe that would become the Argylediamond mine.

Today, our white and coloured diamonds are some of the worlds most sought-after gems. In November 2020, mining ceased at Argyle, after 37 years of operations and producing more than 865 million carats of rough diamonds. We are committed to respectfully closing and rehabilitating the mine and returning the land to its traditional custodians.

We produce the full spectrum of diamonds in terms of qualities, sizes and colours. Our Diavikmine, for example, produces a high proportion of large, white, gem-quality diamonds, traditionally associated with engagement rings, luxury jewellery and collector pieces. Our Argylemine, by contrast, produced predominantly small, coloured stones of diverse quality generally destined for the more affordable fashion jewellery market as well as the rare and highly prized pink diamonds sought after by high-end collectors, designers and diamond connoisseurs. After running for almost 40 years, the annual Argyle Pink Diamonds Tender which features a carefully curated catalogue of the finest gems from Argyle and an exclusive, invitation-only clientele will end in 2021.

Our diamonds are not just rare and beautiful they have an honourable pedigree. We want our customers to be confident that the journey their diamond makes from the mine to the market is a worthy one: that landscapes and cultures are treated respectfully, local communities prosper; safe and fair working conditions are provided and that we deal transparently with our industry partners.

We have partnered with leading international organisations to ensure the integrity and reliability of the wider diamond industry too. We were a founding member and the first mining company to be certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council, which promotes responsible, ethical, social and environmental practices throughout the diamond, gold and platinum jewellery supply chain.

And we have taken an active leadership role in the World Diamond Council, which represents the diamond industry in the Kimberley Process and has established a mechanism for guaranteeing to consumers that diamonds are conflict free.

We were also a founding member of the Natural Diamond Council, the first organisation to represent diamond producers at an international level. The Natural Diamond Council supports the development of the diamond sector and works to maintain and improve consumer confidence in diamonds.

However, individual diamond crystals cleave quite easily when struck parallel to certain planes (the process used to facet diamond gemstones takes advantage of these relatively weak planes). As a result, individual diamond crystals do not make good cutting toolsunless they are meticulously oriented.

Diamond sintering overcomes the problem of weak planes in diamond gemstones by bonding a mass of small diamond particles onto a larger, coherent structure. Sintered diamond provides greater toughness and durability than single crystals because the individual crystals in a sintered body are randomly oriented. This prevents cracks from propagating along the weak planes where traditional diamond crystals cleave most easily. Sintered diamonds also provide more uniform wear than a single crystal, while maintaining similar thermal conductivity and hardness properties. All of these factors combine to make sintered diamond the preferred material for cutting rock.

At US Synthetic, the sintering process begins with premium saw-grade diamond crystals. These crystals are sintered together at temperatures of approximately 1400C and pressures of around 60 kbar in the presence of a liquid metal catalyst. Typically, the diamond is bonded to a tungsten carbide substrate during the same high-temperature, high-pressure process. This sintered diamond and tungsten carbide composite is known in the industry as a polycrystalline diamond cutter (PDC).

The extreme hardness of diamonds presents obvious machining and finishing challenges. In typical machining situations, the finishing tool is harder than the work piece. With diamond inserts, this isnt possible, since diamond is the hardest known substance. This makes machining diamond analogous to cutting through a wooden beam with a wooden saw. As a result, US Synthetic uses millions of carats of industrial diamond each year to machine and finish PDCs to their final dimensions. Over the years, we have developed specialized techniques and machines for lapping, grinding, polishing, brazing, and cutting PDC inserts. These techniques make it possible for us to finish PDCs to exacting specifications, despite the inherent challenges of machining sintered diamond.

bhp, vale, rio tinto launch challenge to encourage haul truck electrification

Three resource giants, BHP (ASX, LON, NYSE: BHP), Rio Tinto (ASX, LON, NYSE: RIO), and Vale (NYSE: VALE), launched on Wednesday the Charge On Innovation Challenge, a global competition for technology innovators to develop new concepts for large-scale haul truck electrification systems with the main goal of cutting emissions from surface mining operations.

In partnership with Australias mining equipment, technology and services industry body Austmine, this initiative is also expected to generate solutions that are capable of unlocking safety, productivity, and operational improvements.

According to the challenges founding patrons, current stationary charging systems require substantial time to charge large trucks, which results in significant lost productivity. Thus, the mining industry needs multi-megawatt scale fast charging concepts capable of delivering around 400kWh to charge and propel a truck within the trucks haul cycle, which includes load, travel, dump, return, and queue.

The mining industry needs to be at the forefront of tackling the climate challenge. The Charge On Innovation Challenge is a great example of the current collaborative work being done by the mining industry and mobile equipment manufacturers to decarbonise mining fleets, the fIrms said in a media statement. In addition to providing a zero-carbon energy source, the conversion of mobile mining equipment to battery-electric can potentially unlock value, as electric motors have fewer moving parts when compared to standard equipment.

We expect the Challenge will attract companies from a broad range of sectors including mining, automotive, aerospace, agriculture, and defence to deliver selected charging concepts to create a standard product that can interface with all trucks, Austmine CEO Christine Gibbs Stewart said in the brief.

The three miners involved in the challenge are the worlds largest producers of iron ore. According to a recent report, energy intensity at hematite operation averages 0.15 GJ/t of iron ore, taking into account both diesel consumption in the mine and electricity production for processing plants.
