The applications of hydraulic elevators involve in five to six-floor buildings. The operating of these elevators can be done at speeds up to 200 ft or 61 meters for each minute. Centrifugal bucket elevators are chosen when there is a need to move large amounts of material quickly. Instead of direct loading, buckets serve as the loading apparatus, scooping material up from the boot or inlet section. For this reason, durable buckets should be selected with this design. Centrifugal force at the head pulley throws material from the buckets into the discharge chute. The buckets are spaced in wider intervals to prevent discharge interference from the preceding bucket and to assure maximum fill of the buckets at the boot end while moving at a higher speed. The design of this style yields optimized material fill and reduced interference between buckets.

Continuous bucket elevators are designed to handle friable, fragile materials to minimize product degradation or damage. They are also ideal for handling sluggish or abrasive materials. Regardless of the material being handled or the configuration type being used, regular maintenance is absolutely essential to bucket elevators. In addition to preventing costly breakdowns, consistent bucket elevator maintenance provides a multitude of benefits such as improved safety and an increase in the life of the equipment. Listed below are key steps FEECO recommends following in order to properly maintain a bucket elevator.

Regular cleaning should be performed to ensure material build-up is continually removed. It is especially important to clean out the boot after each use if the elevator is used seasonally. The equipment should also be operated for a short period of time every two weeks to ensure belt flexibility is maintained.

There are four lubrication points on FEECO bucket elevators: two head bearings and two boot take-up bearings. Each lubrication point must be serviced at least once a week under normal operating conditions. Recommended bearing lubricants are based on standard operating temperatures and can be found in the bucket elevator equipment manual. Refer to the manufacturers recommended maintenance and lubrication procedures for more information.

Although the chain drive is splash lubricated, the chain drives oil level must be checked at the start of each operating shift. This can be visually monitored using the sight gauge (located on the side of the drive guard). If the oil level is low, fill the supply to the required level. Refer to the bucket elevator manual for lubricant recommendations.

Periodically inspect the oil for signs of contaminants. Drain, flush, and refill the oil supply if contaminants are present. Additionally, the chain should be soaked in a nonflammable solution to remove particles, dirt, or water from inside the bushings, rollers, and sidebars. The sprockets should also be cleaned. Both the chain and sprockets should be dried using compressed air. Replace either component if the chain or sprockets show signs of excessive wear or damage.

Periodically inspect the sprockets and drive chain for signs of wear or damage. The best way to effectively examine the component is to remove the upper drive guard and slowly rotate the sprockets and chain to inspect the component for issues.

The sprocket alignment, shaft alignment, and chain slack should also be checked to ensure the proper drive alignment is being maintained. Refer to the bucket elevator manual for more information on this procedure.

In addition to regular maintenance, proper bucket elevator operation procedures must also be followed. Therefore, bucket elevators should only be operated by trained personnel. Operator training is available through FEECOs comprehensive customer service support team.

The bucket elevator is suitable for lifting from a low place to a high place. After the supplied materials are put into the hopper through the vibrating table, the machine automatically runs continuously and moves upward. As for the types of bucket elevator, there are chain bucket elevator and belt bucket elevator. According to the different speeds, bucket elevators can be divided into centrifugal discharge, gravity discharge, and mixed discharge. The bucket elevator adopts inflow-type feeding, induced-type feeding, and large-capacity hopper intensive arrangement. There is almost no material return and digging when the material is lifted, so there is little invalid power.

This bucket elevator has fewer requirements on the types and characteristics of materials. It can apply for not only general powdery and small granular materials, but also materials with greater grinding properties. It has good sealing and less environmental pollution.

Reasonable design and processing ensure the reliability of the whole operation, and the failure-free time exceeds 20,000 hours. Higher lifting height, the bucket elevator is running smoothly, so it can reach a higher lifting height.

The feed of the bucket elevator adopts the inflow type, and the phenomenon of squeeze and collision between the materials rarely occurs. This bucket elevator ensures that materials are not scattered during feeding and unloading, which reduces mechanical wear.

When the jaw cement crusher is working, the movable jaws periodically reciprocate the fixed jaws, sometimes close, and sometimes leave. When approaching, the material is crushed by crushing, splitting, and impacting between the two jaws; when leaving, the material that has been broken is discharged from the discharge port by gravity. When feeding the jaw crusher, the material is poured from the top inlet into the crushing chamber containing the molars, which force the material to the wall of the chamber and break it into smaller stones. Supporting the movement of the caries is an eccentric shaft that runs through the fuselage frame. The eccentric motion is generated by a pulley driven by a pulley fixed to the shaft end through a motor, and the flywheel at the other end of the shaft acts as a balance. Pulleys, flywheels and eccentric shaft support bearings, which must withstand large shock loads, abrasive sewage and high temperatures.

The D-type bucket elevator is composed of a running part (hopper and traction belt), an upper section with a transmission drum, a lower section with a tension drum, an intermediate casing, a driving device, a backstop brake device, etc. It is suitable for conveying powder, granular and small lump-free and semi-polished bulk materials with loose density <1.5t / m3, such as coal, sand, coke, cement, crushed ore, etc.

TD type bucket elevator transmission device has two forms with YZ type reducer ZQ (or YY) type reducer. The YZ type shaft reducer is directly installed on the spindle head, eliminating the need for a transmission platform, a coupling, which makes the structure compact and light, and it has a special-shaped roller backstop inside, which is reliable. The reducer has low noise, stable operation, and floats with the main shaft to eliminate installation stress.

Usually, the capacity of bucket conveyor is determined by several aspects, such as elevator conveyor size, bucket volume and conveying speed. Here is a simple calculation formula. Conveying volume per hour = (bucket volume * single row bucket number) * T * 60 * 75%. (Among them, T is the number of times a single-row buckets run in one minute). In addition, why is there 75%? Thats because, in the actual conveying process, it is difficult to achieve 100% conveying efficiency. In other words, the elevator buckets are difficult to fill.

For example, the height of the vertical conveyor is 3.5 meters. The bucket volume is 6.5L. In addition, the width of the 6.5L bucket is 223mm. The operating speed of the elevator conveyor is 10 m/min. Then the number of buckets in a single row is 16pcs. And T=10/3.52.86 times. Therefore, the conveying capacity of the bucket conveyor per hour = (6.5L*16)*2.86*60*75% = 13384.8L 13.38m.

Above all, you can choose mount the electric motor on the top or bottom of bucket conveyor. Both are ok. More importantly, it must consider the explosion-proof property of the motor in some special occasions. Bucket elevator often conveys powdery materials, for instance flour. Therefore, in order to avoid dust explosions, it needs to use explosion-proof motor. At the same time, during the design of the vertical conveyor, it is necessary to consider preventing the generation of static electricity.

3. Thirdly, before installation, choose the long and short screws and nuts. Then, start the formal installation. Install the lower right plate firstly. Align and tighten the screws. Then, install the lower left plate. Align and tighten the screws. Finally, install the middle fixing frame and tighten the screws. Ensure the stability of the elevator machine body.

8. Eighthly, assemble the top drive sprocket. Then manually check the smoothness of each sprocket. If the smoothness of the elevator sprocket is not good, please adjust it. If there is no problem, install the front cover.

10. Tenthly, correctly install the left and right drive chains of the elevator conveyor. Above all, pass the chain around the sprocket from the bottom. Then pass it through the second guide sprocket. And pull it all the way to and around the top drive sprocket. Then, pull the chain back and go around the first guide sprocket. Then pull the chain down and go around the bottom sprockets and connect. Note that when installing the other side of the chain, make sure that the pins on both sides of the chain are aligned. Otherwise, you cannot assemble elevator buckets.

11. The 11th, adjust the tension balance of the chains on both sides through the tensioning device. Then, pull the chain to detect the condition. The best condition is that the chain drive is stable, smooth, and low noise.

12. No. 12, assemble the elevator buckets correctly. After installation, check the rotation smoothness of the bucket. And then install 3pcs buckets side by side. Then turn it around manually. Check whether the overall operation is normal, smooth and stable.

14. No. 14, install the control electric box of elevator conveyor. Then, install the vibrating feeder connection line. Immediately afterwards, connect the main motor cable. Connect the 380V /220V three-phase four-wire power cord. Please be careful. Finally, connect the feeder connection line to the feeder.

17. 17th, after confirming that there is no problem with the bucket conveyor, assemble the remaining parts, such as the discharge port and various cover plates. The temperature resistance of the plastic bucket has a certain limit. As long as it is within the safe value range, there is no problem for bucket conveyor. However, once the temperature is too high, the plastic bucket cannot withstand it. Eventually it will deform the elevator bucket.

In addition, some customers do not know that the material will be corrosive during using the Z-type elevator conveyor. So long use will cause damage to the buckets. Therefore, we must not only choose the elevator buckets of the right material, but also use them correctly.

Some users also said that they use stainless steel buckets. But the buckets are still easily damaged. Later, we knew that the proportion of materials was relatively large. The specific gravity is as high as about 7. In this case, it needs to communicate with the manufacturer in advance.

The motor noise is normal. When the stator and the rotor rub against each other, there will be a harsh clashing sound. This is mostly caused by a faulty bearing. At this time, it needs to stop immediately. Then check whether the motor bearings are damaged.

The wear of the chain and sprocket will also cause noise. Too much chain tension, insufficient chain lubrication, and too large chain pitch will affect the use of the chain. Therefore, it needs proper lubrication at this time.

The materials in the elevator buckets are full. They fall into the bucket conveyor body during operation, causing some noise. At this time, it requires uniform feeding. At the same time, avoid the conveying volume exceeding the load capacity of the vertical conveyor. In order to avoid damage to the machine.

After finishing bucket elevator installation, it should carry out a test run with an empty machine. Pay attention: it cannot be reversed. And there must be no bumps. Empty running is not less than 2 hours. Besides, there should be no overheating. The temperature rise of the motor does not exceed 30C. After 2 hours of test operation, it can carry out the load test if everything is normal.

Before shutdown each time, you should drain all materials in the buckets. Then stop the machine again. Moreover, dont operate the elevator conveyor reversely. The chain derailment may occur because of the reverse. Solving the derailment is very troublesome.

It is forbidden to increase the feeding amount suddenly. The feeding amount cannot exceed the conveying capacity of the bucket elevator. Otherwise, it is easy to cause accumulation of materials at the bottom.

(1) Firstly, remove debris and dust on the surface of the vertical conveyor. Imediately afterwards, clean the bucket elevator with dish soap. Then clean it with clean water. Finally, use 75% medical alcohol to clean the surface of the elevator conveyor.

(2) Secondly, open the side prorection plate of the chain. Remove all elevator buckets correctly. The cleaning method for buckets is the same as above. After cleaning, put it back into the buckets. And install the side panels.

(1) Open the cover of the tensioning device of vertical conveyor. Apply engine oil evenly on the screws and nuts of the tensioning mechanism. The guide rails and bearings need to be lubricated. Finally, close the cover.

If find that the buckets are damaged during operation, stop the bucket conveyor for inspection in time. And replace with new elevator buckets. Otherwise, continued operation will cause more buckets damage. Similarly, it should check the condition of the chain at any time. If damaged, replace it in time.
