what is elevator (lift) : working principle, different types and their uses

what is elevator (lift) : working principle, different types and their uses

Nowadays, there are many changes has been occurred in the fields like industry, computer as well as software. They have contributed significant progress in all different sectors. By pushing the switch or button, you call a metal box that transports you from one floor to another with safely. In fact, an elevator is mandatory for a building which has more than four to five floors high. For most of the people, an elevator offer ease as well as convenience, and also makes life easier for physically handicapped persons. This article discusses what is the elevator, how does it work and types.

Anelevator can be defined asan electric lift which is used as vertical transportation of goods as well as people among the floors in buildings using bins otherwise silos. As usual, these are activated with the electrical motors that also to drive counterweight system cables for drive transaction such as a hoist, otherwise, pump hydraulic fluid for raising a cylindrical piston such as a jack.

These are used in many areas like agriculture, manufacturing, etc. Elevators are classified into different types based on our requirement. Elevators are frequently used in the latest multistory constructions, in particular wherever ramps of wheelchair would be not practical.

The working principle of an elevator or lift is similar to the pulley system. A pulley system is used to draw the water from the well. This pulley system can be designed with a bucket, a rope with a wheel. A bucket is connected to a rope that passes throughout a wheel. This can make it very easy to draw the water from the well. Similarly, present elevators use the same concept. But the main difference between these two are; pulley systems are operated manually whereas an elevator uses sophisticated mechanisms for handling the elevators load.

Basically, an elevator is a metal box in different shapes which is connected to a very tough metal rope. The tough metal rope passes through a sheave on the elevator in the engine room. Here a sheave is like a wheel in pulley system for clutching the metal rope strongly. This system can be operated by a motor. When the switch is turned ON, the motor can be activated when the elevator goes up and down or stops.

The elevator can be constructed with various elevator Components or elevator parts that mainly include speed controlling system, electric motor, rails, cabin, shaft, doors (manual and automatic), drive unit, buffers, and safety device.

The different types of lifts or elevators include building lift, capsule lift, hydraulic elevator, pneumatic elevator, passenger lift, freight elevator, traction elevator/cable driven, residential elevators, machine room-less elevator, etc.

A hydraulic elevator is power-driven by a piston that moves within a cylinder. The piston movement can be done by pumping hydraulic oil to the cylinder. The piston lifts the lift cab easily, and the oil can be controlled by an electrical valve.

The applications of hydraulic elevators involve in five to six-floor buildings. The operating of these elevators can be done at speeds up to 200 ft or 61 meters for each minute. All the current hydraulic pumps are designed with a mechanical Y-delta starter otherwise solid state contractor. For the power supply of motor as well as building, solid-state starters are superior. Because the windings stay longer as well as there is no voltage drop across the building power supply.

In Y-delta type starter, the motor can be activated by using two contractors on a decreased speed, after that continues with full speed. Older hydraulic elevators now started up suddenly, transmitting mains power at full-blast right into the electric motor. This sets a lot of damage on the motor, which will make it burn out quicker than motors on Solid-State or Y-Delta Contactor starters. The hydraulic elevators are classified into four types such as holed, hole less & roped elevators

The pneumatic elevator can be designed with an external cylinder, and the cylinder is a crystal clear self-supporting cylinder. This cylinder includes modular sections to fit effortlessly into one by one. The top of this tube is designed with steel material that ensures tight air shutting by suction valves as well as inlets. A lift car runs within the cylinder, & the head unit on the top cylinder surface consists of valves, controllers, and turbines for controlling the elevator movements.

Pneumatic elevators are very easy to fit, operate as well as maintain when compared with the traditional elevators. These are used in existing homes because of their solid design. The main benefits of using these elevators include solid design & smooth, speed and flexibility, energy efficient and very safe.

The traction elevator or cable driven elevators are the most popular elevators. It consists of steel cables as well as hoisting ropes that run above a pulley which is connected to the motor. This is geared otherwise gearless-traction type elevator. In this kind of elevator, several wire and hoisting cables are connected to the surface of an elevator car with covering around it on sheaves at one end & the other side is connected to a counterweight that travels up & down on its guide rails.

The counterweight is equivalent to the cars weight and half of the weight of the passenger in the car. This means, throughout the lifting process it needs extra power for the additional passengers in the car; the rest of the load is managed with the weight of the counter. When the control system is connected to the lift, then it drives the motors in a frontward way, and sheave turns around to move the car lift upwards and stops in the preferred floor where the car is controlled by the weight of the counter.

For the car downstairs movement, overturn occurs during a rotating motor through a control method. For conserving the energy, some types of lift use electric motors with four quadrant operation in the regenerative method. Because of the high rise as well as high-speed capacities, these are applicable in several escalators, lifts, etc.

The main features of this elevators mainly include design, and travel comfort is best. The interior design of these lifts is attractive with a large glass panel for viewing. The ultramodern design of these lifts offers a cosmic zone travel experience for the passengers. These lifts are consistent and inexpensive with the least maintenance.

A building lift is a vertical transportation among the floors of the building. These are frequently used in public buildings, complexes, offices, and multistory building. These lifts are important in providing vertical movement, mostly in high buildings, for a wheelchair as well as other non-ambulant building customers. Some type of lifts also is applicable for emigration & firefighting purposes.

This type of lift has entirely included a lift car that moves vertically in a specially equipped lift shaft. Passengers are traveled between the floors in the building at quick speed. The control systems in the lift frequently designed to offer the most economical sharing of passengers all over the building. These lifts are very space efficient which are used in existing buildings where space is at a best.

The main advantages of using passenger lift give a very comfort traveling among different floors, particularly space efficient, fully fixed shaft, small construction works, and no level loadings on the building.

In the world of elevators, these lifts are workhorses. These are very useful for transporting materials, goods in warehouses, manufacturing industries, shopping malls, seaports, etc. This type of elevator is separated into classes, to describe their load capacity as well as application. These lifts are strong in nature, and they are specially manufactured by engineers.

The features of this elevator include: the range of loading capacity is from 2500 lbs to 10000 lbs, height of the travel up to 50fts. The benefits of these elevators include; these elevators are designed for commercial as well as industrial applications. The flexible design to hold the application, door designs can be changed, eco-friendly, etc.

Residential elevators provide stylish options to the platform as well as stair lifts. These lifts can be effortlessly incorporated in any available home, otherwise incorporated in edifice plans for latest homes. These types of elevators are available in different styles, and these can be installed in your home walls, otherwise included effortlessly to improve your homes decoration. The main benefits of residential elevators are; they can move you securely among floors even during a power failure. Quick installation and offers you an effortless life.

Thus, this is all about an overview of elevators or types of lifts. These have been around for 100s of years; however, they work on a very fundamental principle. Even though the fundamentals of the elevator has not altered over the decades, but small twists have been made for the smooth ride as well as by using computer-controlled systems, efficiency has been improved for quicker transport. Here is a question for you, who invented the elevator?

continuous bucket elevators: tips for a successful installation - unitrak

continuous bucket elevators: tips for a successful installation - unitrak

Companies have several options available for installing continuous bucket elevators. While many equipment OEMs offer varying levels of services for the installation and commissioning of their units, buyers are also free to install using their own maintenance resources or those of a third-party contractor. Whether using an OEM, a third-party, or self-installing, it is important to ensure that the equipment OEMs installation instructions are carefully followed to avoid problems and delays. In this blog, we offer general guidance that can help the installation process to proceed smoothly.

Equipment OEMs check their units before they leave the factory. Nonetheless, it is important to carefully inspect all parts received for any damage that may have occurred during shipment. Look for dents in section coverings and bent or misaligned pulley flanges and shafts. If these are not identified and corrected, they can adversely affect start-up and continuing performance.

The process location into which the bucket elevator is being installed should be cleared of anything that may interfere with the installation. Floor space and headroom that is sufficiently sized to accommodate the footprint and vertical height of the equipment should be available. When calculating the floor area and headroom needed for an installation, do not overlook the space required for connections to upstream and downstream equipment, for any securing to overhead fixtures that may be required, or that which is required for installation personnel to work safely within.

Searching for needed tools and supplies can delay and complicate an equipment installation. With tools and supplies, the devil is in the details. For example, knowing if your equipment OEM uses imperial or metric fasteners can help avoid having to locate the appropriate tools once equipment assembly has begun. Similarly, reviewing the equipment OEMs recommended lubricants to ensure that those needed are available can avoid start-up delays

Continuous bucket elevators are usually powered by drive motors that depend on a supply of electrical current. All necessary electrical connections, including interlocking connections with other equipment and controls, should be made by a qualified electrician who can ensure compliance with local codes and regulations.

Failing to follow an equipment OEMs installation instructions can result in unsafe operation, damage to equipment, facilities, and personnel, as well as voiding any warranties. Where installation personnel are unsure about any aspect of an installation, the equipment OEM should be contacted for help and support.

Parts and components which are essential for the safe operation of the bucket elevator should receive particular attention. For example, if your unit is supplied with explosion panels, these should only be installed using the mounting hardware supplied or recommended by the equipment OEM.

Each jurisdiction has its own regulations and requirements for the guarding of process equipment to ensure safe operation. The installation crew should ensure that all applicable regulations and standards for safe operation have been reviewed, understood, and complied with prior to equipment start-up.

Following these tips will help ensure a smooth, successful, and safe installation of your continuous bucket elevator. Should the installation process break down at any point for any reason, be sure to contact your equipment OEM for advice and support.

FEECO has been building custom bucket elevators for over 65 years. We offer a variety of bucket elevator designs and sizes to handle materials ranging from dry dusty powders such as fly ash, to heavy materials such as iron ore pellets. Bucket elevators can be ordered in a number of configurations, including centrifugal belt, centrifugal chain, continuous belt, continuous single chain and continuous double chain.

Centrifugal bucket elevators are chosen when there is a need to move large amounts of material quickly. Instead of direct loading, buckets serve as the loading apparatus, scooping material up from the boot or inlet section. For this reason, durable buckets should be selected with this design. Centrifugal force at the head pulley throws material from the buckets into the discharge chute. The buckets are spaced in wider intervals to prevent discharge interference from the preceding bucket and to assure maximum fill of the buckets at the boot end while moving at a higher speed. The design of this style yields optimized material fill and reduced interference between buckets.

Continuous bucket elevators are designed to handle friable, fragile materials to minimize product degradation or damage. They are also ideal for handling sluggish or abrasive materials. Continuous bucket elevators are also used to convey light, free-flowing matter where aeration of the material must be avoided.

Material is fed into the buckets from an inlet chute. Buckets are designed for gentle discharge; the buckets are closely spaced on the belt or chain to allow the material to flow over the backside of the preceding bucket, whose extended sides form a chute to guide the material into the discharge spout. Direct loading of the material, combined with the slow speed of this elevator type, avoids the throwing action associated with centrifugal style elevators, making it ideal for use with fragile materials.

Chain bucket elevators provide a higher-capacity, more durable handling option. They are best for jobs requiring rugged handling of large particles, or materials that are heated or have a potential for combustion.

All FEECO equipment and process systems can be outfitted with the latest in automation controls from Rockwell Automation. The unique combination of proprietary Rockwell Automation controls and software, combined with our extensive experience in process design and enhancements with hundreds of materials provides an unparalleled experience for customers seeking innovative process solutions and equipment.

Bucket elevators can handle a variety of materials, and therefore are used in many different industries and applications, though generally, they are not suited for wet, sticky materials, or materials that are stringy or tend to mat or agglomerate. They are frequently found in bulk material handling settings such as power plants, fertilizer plants, pulp & paper mills, and steel production facilities. Some of the most common materials for which bucket elevators are employed include:

Flexibility: Make sure the bucket elevator manufacturer is prepared to tailor the unit to the specific requirements of the material being handled, as well as any operational goals. This will ensure an efficient and reliable handling solution with long-term dependability.

Material Experience: Many bucket elevator manufacturers specialize in a specific industry. In choosing a manufacturer, ensure they have experience around the unique challenges of the material to be handled.

Aftermarket Support: Select a manufacturer that has the capabilities to service and maintain their equipment for a maximum return on investment. This includes provision of spare parts, training, installation assistance, and more.

bucket elevator maintenance checklist

bucket elevator maintenance checklist

Regardless of the material being handled or the configuration type being used, regular maintenance is absolutely essential to bucket elevators. In addition to preventing costly breakdowns, consistent bucket elevator maintenance provides a multitude of benefits such as improved safety and an increase in the life of the equipment. Listed below are key steps FEECO recommends following in order to properly maintain a bucket elevator.

Regular cleaning should be performed to ensure material build-up is continually removed. It is especially important to clean out the boot after each use if the elevator is used seasonally. The equipment should also be operated for a short period of time every two weeks to ensure belt flexibility is maintained.

There are four lubrication points on FEECO bucket elevators: two head bearings and two boot take-up bearings. Each lubrication point must be serviced at least once a week under normal operating conditions. Recommended bearing lubricants are based on standard operating temperatures and can be found in the bucket elevator equipment manual. Refer to the manufacturers recommended maintenance and lubrication procedures for more information.

Although the chain drive is splash lubricated, the chain drives oil level must be checked at the start of each operating shift. This can be visually monitored using the sight gauge (located on the side of the drive guard). If the oil level is low, fill the supply to the required level. Refer to the bucket elevator manual for lubricant recommendations.

Periodically inspect the oil for signs of contaminants. Drain, flush, and refill the oil supply if contaminants are present. Additionally, the chain should be soaked in a nonflammable solution to remove particles, dirt, or water from inside the bushings, rollers, and sidebars. The sprockets should also be cleaned. Both the chain and sprockets should be dried using compressed air. Replace either component if the chain or sprockets show signs of excessive wear or damage.

Periodically inspect the sprockets and drive chain for signs of wear or damage. The best way to effectively examine the component is to remove the upper drive guard and slowly rotate the sprockets and chain to inspect the component for issues.

The sprocket alignment, shaft alignment, and chain slack should also be checked to ensure the proper drive alignment is being maintained. Refer to the bucket elevator manual for more information on this procedure.

In addition to regular maintenance, proper bucket elevator operation procedures must also be followed. Therefore, bucket elevators should only be operated by trained personnel. Operator training is available through FEECOs comprehensive customer service support team.

FEECO is proud to have an exceptional service team with decades of experience solving and preventing problems even if the equipment isnt ours! Bucket elevator in cement plant, also called cement bucket elevator, is mechanical conveying equipment, mainly apply for the vertical lift of powder, particles like limestone, coal, gypsum, clinker, clay, raw meal, cement, pulverized coal, etc. in general, cement bucket elevator work with cement crusher, raw mill, cement mill, and other cement equipment.

The bucket elevator is suitable for lifting from a low place to a high place. After the supplied materials are put into the hopper through the vibrating table, the machine automatically runs continuously and moves upward. The conveying speed can be adjusted according to the conveying volume, and the lifting height can be selected as required. The hopper is custom-designed and manufactured together. The PP non-toxic hopper makes this type of bucket elevator more widely used. All sizes are designed and manufactured according to actual needs.

As for the types of bucket elevator, there are chain bucket elevator and belt bucket elevator. According to the different speeds, bucket elevators can be divided into centrifugal discharge, gravity discharge, and mixed discharge. The chain bucket elevator and belt bucket elevator are available in AGICO CEMENT, you can customize a suitable type as you need.

The bucket elevator adopts inflow-type feeding, induced-type feeding, and large-capacity hopper intensive arrangement. There is almost no material return and digging when the material is lifted, so there is little invalid power.

This bucket elevator has fewer requirements on the types and characteristics of materials. It can apply for not only general powdery and small granular materials, but also materials with greater grinding properties. It has good sealing and less environmental pollution.

Reasonable design and processing ensure the reliability of the whole operation, and the failure-free time exceeds 20,000 hours. Higher lifting height, the bucket elevator is running smoothly, so it can reach a higher lifting height.

The feed of the bucket elevator adopts the inflow type, and the phenomenon of squeeze and collision between the materials rarely occurs. This bucket elevator ensures that materials are not scattered during feeding and unloading, which reduces mechanical wear.

When the jaw cement crusher is working, the movable jaws periodically reciprocate the fixed jaws, sometimes close, and sometimes leave. When approaching, the material is crushed by crushing, splitting, and impacting between the two jaws; when leaving, the material that has been broken is discharged from the discharge port by gravity. When feeding the jaw crusher, the material is poured from the top inlet into the crushing chamber containing the molars, which force the material to the wall of the chamber and break it into smaller stones. Supporting the movement of the caries is an eccentric shaft that runs through the fuselage frame. The eccentric motion is generated by a pulley driven by a pulley fixed to the shaft end through a motor, and the flywheel at the other end of the shaft acts as a balance. Pulleys, flywheels and eccentric shaft support bearings, which must withstand large shock loads, abrasive sewage and high temperatures.

The D-type bucket elevator is composed of a running part (hopper and traction belt), an upper section with a transmission drum, a lower section with a tension drum, an intermediate casing, a driving device, a backstop brake device, etc. It is suitable for conveying powder, granular and small lump-free and semi-polished bulk materials with loose density <1.5t / m3, such as coal, sand, coke, cement, crushed ore, etc.

TD type bucket elevator transmission device has two forms with YZ type reducer ZQ (or YY) type reducer. The YZ type shaft reducer is directly installed on the spindle head, eliminating the need for a transmission platform, a coupling, which makes the structure compact and light, and it has a special-shaped roller backstop inside, which is reliable. The reducer has low noise, stable operation, and floats with the main shaft to eliminate installation stress.

Bucket elevator is often used in dry mortar production line equipment. Its specific function is that the bucket elevator is driven by motor to make spiral rotation and push material to achieve the purpose of conveying. Therefore, the installation method of belt bucket elevator is more stringent . The installation method is as follows: Installation of wire rope belt bucket elevator connector (see photo) the wire rope belt bucket elevator joint device is a special fixture for connecting the steel cord conveyor belt. The installation quality of bucket elevator joint device will directly affect the safe and reliable operation of bucket elevator.

One end of the rope belt of the bucket elevator has been used to connect the splice hole of the splice device. The other end does not connect the device hole. When the ends of the rope belt are pulled to the top end of the hoisting machine, the lower part of the rope belt is mentioned to the highest position. Position the wire rope adhesive belt joint in the middle of the top roller top. Measure the location of the connection hole at the other end of the adhesive belt with the joint device, and line the hole. A. put one end of the line, and use the bucket elevator connection device to make the same size hole for the drill drill and the connection device. Note that the center line of the hole should be perpendicular to the center line of the belt. The distance between the two sides of the belt is equal to the distance from the joint device. After drilling the hole at the other end of the belt. B. place the rubber belt pad in the middle of the two adhesive belt. The two belt splint is placed outside the belt, and put on the high-strength bolt and screw the nut. Adjust the position of the connection device and the adhesive belt to ensure that the joint device is perpendicular to the center line of the adhesive belt, and the two ends are equal to the distance from the adhesive belt. Then tighten the first nut with the spanner and tighten the other nut. C. the outer part of the joint device is stripped out of the excess adhesive belte and the end of the belt end is longitudinally separated from the outer side of the splint to retain the 100mm long wire rope, and the excess wire rope is cut off. D. according to figure 1, put the backing plate over the belt end of the wire rope to the upper part of the bucket elevator connecting device.

bucket conveyor, z type vertical conveyor & elevator conveyor system

bucket conveyor, z type vertical conveyor & elevator conveyor system

Bucket conveyor mainly has two types. That is to say the z type bucket elevator and vertical bucket elevator. As vertical conveyor system manufacturer, we can design & customize high quality elevator conveyors with good price. Besides, we can also supply many components. So it is convenient for bucket elevator maintenance. It can be chain type and belt type bucket conveyor.

Vertical conveyor has wide applications, such as conveying grain, beans, candy, nuts, feed, pet food, cat litter, hardware, powder or other particles. So we can use elevator conveyor in silo, rice mill, flour mill, food factory, packaging industry, etc.

It conveys materials through several buckets suspended on a chain. Its z shaped. Z elevator conveyor can transport materials horizontally-vertically-horizontally. On the one hand, z bucket conveyor can feed the materials by single or multiple feeding ports. On the other hand, it can also accomplish unloading by multiple discharge ports / outlets.

Fully enclosed, no leakage, no pollution. Z bucket elevator is suitable for conveying various powde and granular materials. It is better to transport non-sticky substances. The advantage of this equipment is its flexible composition. The damage rate to the material is low. Therefore, the production of defective products can be prevented. Forms of composition: Z shaped, C type, mixed, and horizontal.

At present, Z vertical conveyor is mainly used for the feeding of weighing packaging machines and color sorters. In addition, its also suitable for cyclic loading and unloading of automated production lines. What is the application of bucket conveyor? The following are its common specific applications:

Food industry: biscuits, potato chips, flour, dumplings, chocolate, frozen food, candy, peanuts, coffee beans, peas, melon seeds, pistachios, walnuts, almonds, rice, etc. Chemical industry: plastic particles (PP, PE, PS), activated carbon, preservatives, additives, fertilizers, feed, cat litter, etc. Pharmaceutical industry: capsules, tablets, pills, etc.; Hardware industry: screws, nuts, metal accessories, etc.;

1. Casing: semi-enclosed / dustproof / stainless steel or carbon steel sprayed shell. 2. Bucket material: SS304 stainless steel bucket / carbon steel bucket / food grade ABS or PP bucket. 3. Elevator bucket capacity: 1.8L, 2.4L, 3.6L, 6L, 10L. 4. Drive device: explosion-proof gear motor / ordinary gear motor. 5. Sprocket: alloy steel sprocket / stainless steel sprocket. 6. Chain: alloy steel chain / stainless steel chain. 7. Control devices: manual start and stop / automatic start and stop, frequency conversion control. 8. Feeding type of elevator conveyor: ordinary hopper feeding / electromagnetic vibration feeder. 9. Conveyor voltage: 220V, 380V (single-phase or 3-phase). 10. Bucket conveyor type: Z shape, C type, single or multiple feeding ports, single or multiple discharge outlets.

The structure of the z-type bucket conveyor is similar to the traditional vertical bucket elevator. They both use chain buckets for conveying. But there is some difference in the feeding and discharging. Z style elevator conveyor increases the conveying part of the upper and lower horizontal sections (the shortest 1.5 meters). So it is convenient for customers to transport at a horizontal distance. Thereby customers dont need to buy other horizontal conveyor equipments.

The Z series bucket elevator composes of the following parts, such as conveying parts, driving device, upper device, middle casing, and lower device. Among them, the conveying parts include buckets and chains.

Bucket elevator components: 1~elevator body, 2~feeding port, 3~discharge port, 4~drive motor, 5~bucket, 6~cylinder, 7~driven sprocket, 8~drive chain, 9~guide wheel, 10~slider, 11~tensioning device, 15~studs.

It is suitable for lifting items from a low place to a high place. First of all, feed the material into the buckets through the hopper. Then the vertical conveyor automatically runs continuously and upwards. To put it simply, the two circular chains are full of elevator buckets. Afterwards, the motor drives the chain to rotate. So the bucket rotates with the chain. Finally, the material is lifted and transported to the designated location for unloading. The buckets discharge materials by centrifugal force and gravity. So as to realize the vertical conveying.

When the Z elevator conveyor works, the gear motor drives the two sprockets to move synchronously through the bearings. So the two chains move synchronously on the closed track. When conveying the material to the feeder, it slides and falls into the horizontal forward buckets. Since the material is slipped into the elevator buckets, so the material will not be broken.

In addition, the Z style bucket conveyor is usually closed. So it prevents dust from flying. Of course, bucket elevator has inspection door. Therefore, customers can observe vertical conveyor operation at any time.

The Z-type bucket elevator integrates the horizontal conveying and lifting of materials. Thus, one Z vertical conveyor can replace the traditional three conveyor equipments. That is to say, the two horizontal conveyors + one vertical lift conveyor.

1. Firstly, the conveying range is wide. This type of elevator conveyor does not have high requirements for the types and characteristics of materials. Z vertical conveyor can not only lift powdery and small granular materials, but also lift bulk materials. Good airtightness and less environmental pollution.

2. Secondly, there are a variety of shapes and structures for choice. Therefore, the layout is flexible. And vertical conveyor can save factory area. The conveying track is horizontal-vertical-horizontal transportation. So it can greatly reduce unnecessary space occupation.

When customizing the vertical conveyor, you need to inform the manufacturer of the specific application. Of course, before you select the vertical conveyor, you should confirm which shape you need. Z style or C shape bucket elevator or other shapes? In addition, if need multiple discharge ports or feeding ports, just tell us.

It mainly include various parameters, such as bulk density, temperature, viscosity, etc. Moreover, different conveyed products, different elevator body & bucket materials. The outer casing of bucket conveyor can be carbon steel and stainless steel. Additionally, there are several kinds of elevator buckets materials, such as ABS plastic, carbon steel, SS304 stainless steel, SS316 stainless steel, etc.

So what materials to select? For example, if your appliation is to convey food, it must to use the sanitary ABS or stainless steel buckets. At the same time, the machine casing should be also stainless steel. And if you want to transport the high temperature products, it cant to use the plastic elevator buckets. In addition, when lifting the corrosive goods, it should use the SS304 or SS316 buckets.

Usually, the capacity of bucket conveyor is determined by several aspects, such as elevator conveyor size, bucket volume and conveying speed. Here is a simple calculation formula. Conveying volume per hour = (bucket volume * single row bucket number) * T * 60 * 75%. (Among them, T is the number of times a single-row buckets run in one minute). In addition, why is there 75%? Thats because, in the actual conveying process, it is difficult to achieve 100% conveying efficiency. In other words, the elevator buckets are difficult to fill.

For example, the height of the vertical conveyor is 3.5 meters. The bucket volume is 6.5L. In addition, the width of the 6.5L bucket is 223mm. The operating speed of the elevator conveyor is 10 m/min. Then the number of buckets in a single row is 16pcs. And T=10/3.52.86 times. Therefore, the conveying capacity of the bucket conveyor per hour = (6.5L*16)*2.86*60*75% = 13384.8L 13.38m.

Above all, you can choose mount the electric motor on the top or bottom of bucket conveyor. Both are ok. More importantly, it must consider the explosion-proof property of the motor in some special occasions. Bucket elevator often conveys powdery materials, for instance flour. Therefore, in order to avoid dust explosions, it needs to use explosion-proof motor. At the same time, during the design of the vertical conveyor, it is necessary to consider preventing the generation of static electricity.

3. Thirdly, before installation, choose the long and short screws and nuts. Then, start the formal installation. Install the lower right plate firstly. Align and tighten the screws. Then, install the lower left plate. Align and tighten the screws. Finally, install the middle fixing frame and tighten the screws. Ensure the stability of the elevator machine body.

8. Eighthly, assemble the top drive sprocket. Then manually check the smoothness of each sprocket. If the smoothness of the elevator sprocket is not good, please adjust it. If there is no problem, install the front cover.

10. Tenthly, correctly install the left and right drive chains of the elevator conveyor. Above all, pass the chain around the sprocket from the bottom. Then pass it through the second guide sprocket. And pull it all the way to and around the top drive sprocket. Then, pull the chain back and go around the first guide sprocket. Then pull the chain down and go around the bottom sprockets and connect. Note that when installing the other side of the chain, make sure that the pins on both sides of the chain are aligned. Otherwise, you cannot assemble elevator buckets.

11. The 11th, adjust the tension balance of the chains on both sides through the tensioning device. Then, pull the chain to detect the condition. The best condition is that the chain drive is stable, smooth, and low noise.

12. No. 12, assemble the elevator buckets correctly. After installation, check the rotation smoothness of the bucket. And then install 3pcs buckets side by side. Then turn it around manually. Check whether the overall operation is normal, smooth and stable.

14. No. 14, install the control electric box of elevator conveyor. Then, install the vibrating feeder connection line. Immediately afterwards, connect the main motor cable. Connect the 380V /220V three-phase four-wire power cord. Please be careful. Finally, connect the feeder connection line to the feeder.

17. 17th, after confirming that there is no problem with the bucket conveyor, assemble the remaining parts, such as the discharge port and various cover plates. Finally, check the operating status of the elevator conveyor. After confirming that it is correct, it finishes the assembly of bucket elevator.

The temperature resistance of the plastic bucket has a certain limit. As long as it is within the safe value range, there is no problem for bucket conveyor. However, once the temperature is too high, the plastic bucket cannot withstand it. Eventually it will deform the elevator bucket.

In addition, some customers do not know that the material will be corrosive during using the Z-type elevator conveyor. So long use will cause damage to the buckets. Therefore, we must not only choose the elevator buckets of the right material, but also use them correctly.

Some users also said that they use stainless steel buckets. But the buckets are still easily damaged. Later, we knew that the proportion of materials was relatively large. The specific gravity is as high as about 7. In this case, it needs to communicate with the manufacturer in advance.

The motor noise is normal. When the stator and the rotor rub against each other, there will be a harsh clashing sound. This is mostly caused by a faulty bearing. At this time, it needs to stop immediately. Then check whether the motor bearings are damaged.

The wear of the chain and sprocket will also cause noise. Too much chain tension, insufficient chain lubrication, and too large chain pitch will affect the use of the chain. Therefore, it needs proper lubrication at this time.

The materials in the elevator buckets are full. They fall into the bucket conveyor body during operation, causing some noise. At this time, it requires uniform feeding. At the same time, avoid the conveying volume exceeding the load capacity of the vertical conveyor. In order to avoid damage to the machine.

After finishing bucket elevator installation, it should carry out a test run with an empty machine. Pay attention: it cannot be reversed. And there must be no bumps. Empty running is not less than 2 hours. Besides, there should be no overheating. The temperature rise of the motor does not exceed 30C. After 2 hours of test operation, it can carry out the load test if everything is normal.

Before shutdown each time, you should drain all materials in the buckets. Then stop the machine again. Moreover, dont operate the elevator conveyor reversely. The chain derailment may occur because of the reverse. Solving the derailment is very troublesome.

It is forbidden to increase the feeding amount suddenly. The feeding amount cannot exceed the conveying capacity of the bucket elevator. Otherwise, it is easy to cause accumulation of materials at the bottom.

(1) Firstly, remove debris and dust on the surface of the vertical conveyor. Imediately afterwards, clean the bucket elevator with dish soap. Then clean it with clean water. Finally, use 75% medical alcohol to clean the surface of the elevator conveyor.

(2) Secondly, open the side prorection plate of the chain. Remove all elevator buckets correctly. The cleaning method for buckets is the same as above. After cleaning, put it back into the buckets. And install the side panels.

(1) Open the cover of the tensioning device of vertical conveyor. Apply engine oil evenly on the screws and nuts of the tensioning mechanism. The guide rails and bearings need to be lubricated. Finally, close the cover.

If find that the buckets are damaged during operation, stop the bucket conveyor for inspection in time. And replace with new elevator buckets. Otherwise, continued operation will cause more buckets damage. Similarly, it should check the condition of the chain at any time. If damaged, replace it in time.
